Guido Nussbaumer was a pioneer like no other. 90 years ago, he laid the foundation for the unique family business on the market square in Gmunden, Upper Austria.

At that time, coffee beans were a pure luxury, sold in two- and five-dag packets in the company's own grocery store. So Guido Nussbaumer brought this luxury to Gmunden and delighted his customers with the purest coffee experience. Luxury still permeates the air today. The company philosophy of high quality and absolute freshness was continued by Manfred Drack, who took over the coffee roasting business from his father-in-law in 1978.

It was Manfred Drack who, with his profound expertise and attention to detail, transformed the Nussbaumer coffee roastery into what it is today: a traditional local company with secret recipes for blending different types of green coffee into its own blends. Today, his granddaughter Marlene Drack carries on the company's history. Her passion was instilled in her from birth, and she brings a breath of fresh air to the roastery. She combines tradition with innovation, never losing sight of the core: the highest quality and authentic coffee enjoyment.

A good origin is the perfect basis for delicious coffee. For this reason, our coffee roastery only uses the finest highland Arabica beans from the world's best growing regions. Our coffee beans are largely grown sustainably, organically, and socially responsible, hand-picked, and sometimes even traded directly.

Our unique roasting process ensures the quality and expressiveness of the coffee beans are optimally preserved. Using the traditional drum roasting method, we achieve a harmonious, full-bodied balance of body, low acidity, and aroma with great care and a slow, gentle roasting process. Complemented by our expertise in the optimal composition of the various green coffee varieties, this results in our incomparable house blends.
