For people by people
Origin is the foundation for perfect coffee enjoyment. For this reason, at Nussbaumer Kaffee, we process only the finest highland Arabica beans from the world's best growing regions. During a trip to Guatemala in 2018, the project surrounding our Lampocoy variety - Café des Mujeres - was born. The beans are grown organically and socially responsible and hand-picked. Through direct trade, we can bypass expensive middlemen and pay the workers around 45% higher wages than the market rate. This is a purely women-led project, providing the workers with a secure income, education for their children, and financial independence.
The Nussbaumer School Lampocoy
In 2018, we decided to work with the farmers of Lampocoy to finance the construction of a school in the village. In the developing country of Guatemala, educational standards are extremely low, which often leads to exploitation and a lack of prospects.
The Nussbaumer Lampocoy School specializes in digitalization. Therefore, every child is equipped with a computer and learns not only reading, writing, and arithmetic, but also how to use modern technology.
Since 2019, 20 children between the ages of 6 and 12 have been receiving instruction there and a hot meal every day. This creates new career prospects and opportunities for development.
Quality through responsibility
Hand-picked in the mountain village of Lampocoy, processed to the highest standards, transported to Europe by container ship, and finally roasted here in Gmunden on Lake Traunsee using the traditional drum roasting method. This is our single-origin Lampocoy - Café des Mujeres. Every cup represents fair trade and the highest level of enjoyment.
